CARRYING MAINLY AXIAL LOAD IS VERTICAL, IT IS A TERMED AS ‘COLUMN’ WHILE IF IT IS A INCLINED COLUMN, IT IS TERMED AS A
‘STRUT’.
SLENDERNESS RATIO :- IT IS A THE RATIO OF EFFECTIVE LENGTH
OF THE COLUMN TO LEAST LATERAL DIMENSION.
